What is an energy healing?
An energy healing is a very gentle, yet powerful treatment that can be highly effective in helping people move beyond where they have been stuck. This type of work is based on the scientific understanding that everything is energy – everything we see and everything we do not see. This includes our thoughts, our emotions, our spirits and our physical bodies. When we are not well, it is because our energy is somehow compromised at any of four levels of the body – the physical, mental, spiritual or emotional.
Many, many treatment methods exist, but not all methods address all four levels. Because an energy healing is comprehensive in this way, sometimes people experience remarkable results, where other treatment methods have failed. Sonia draws upon 13 years of training and experience in numerous modalities including; The Yuen Method, Emotional Freedom Techniques, and Dynamic Energetic Healing to name just a few.
What happens during an energy healing?
In the world of holistic health, there are many modalities that work with a person’s energy. During an energy healing, Sonia Miller utilizes a blend of techniques depending on the client’s needs. These techniques include, but are not limited to breath work, visualization and muscle checking (see below for more information).
During a session, a client sits or reclines in a comfortable chair and is guided in some breathing and visualization to relax. Muscle checking is then used to communicate with the client’s body-mind system to obtain information about how energy is being held in the body and where there might be blocks, constrictions and imbalances. The muscle checking technique also allows limiting emotions and belief systems to be identified and then released through breath, visualization and occasionally light hands-on work. Affirmations are subsequently introduced so that the body, mind, emotions and spirit can align with new, empowering energies for a permanent and transformational experience.
What is muscle checking?
It has been discovered that when resistance is applied to isolated muscles, the physical body will respond with a strong or weak muscle, depending on the flow of energy within the body. This has been demonstrated in various treatment methods such as Applied Kinesiology, Chiropractic, Neuro-Emotional Technique and Holographic Repatterning, to name a few.
During an energy healing, muscle checking is used to communicate with clients’ body-mind systems. Strong and weak muscle responses help the practitioner to gather information, much like a detective, regarding stuck emotions, limiting beliefs, physical conditions and energy states. As these details are identified clients can then begin moving the energy that is influencing their bodies and their lives.
What can I expect from an energy healing?
As with any treatment method, results vary with each individual. Clients seeking relief of physical symptoms can experience anything ranging from immediate, remarkable complete relief (this has been seen in particular regarding allergies, asthma and Genital Herpes), to subtle relief that increases with each treatment over time.
Clients seeking an emotional, mental or behavioral shift also see varying results over varying time frames. A common response after a first treatment is, “I just FEEL better. I can’t explain it, but I feel lighter, clearer and the things that were bothering me just don’t have the same impact.” Other people experience profound emotional releases that feel like new found freedom from a past issue. And yet other clients find that, as they reflect on their lives since beginning energy healings, they are “suddenly” reacting differently (more positively and powerfully) to the same circumstances that used to trigger negativity, OR that they are finally finding themselves moving forward in their lives where they felt stuck before.
Can energy healings be done long-distance?
Yes, Sonia Miller treats clients all over the world via telephone and Skype.
