Law of Attraction - Get Results by Getting Out of Your Own Way - Installment #9

This week, I’ll be offering a few examples that illustrate how ego and higher purpose can express in everyday lives.
The Higher Purpose Artist
The higher purpose artist like the higher purpose businessman views her work as a venue for authentic self-expression and reaching others. She is called to create, to express, to communicate and to stimulate. She feels she really has no choice in how she spends her waking hours. Her soul tells her, “You must do your art.” A life without art feels meaningless. Like all higher purpose people, expressing their purpose gives their life meaning. And, in contrast to the ego-driven artist, although these higher callings may indeed be a part of what moves the artist to do her work, the ego can become a point of conflict. The needs of the ego might drown out or distort the purity of the soul’s communication through art. Ego gratification such as validation or financial compensation may overpower the initial call to create and express. And the issue of having to prove something can infect the creative process, leaving the artist disconnected and unfulfilled, or even wounded in her ability to produce artwork that touches others the way her soul desires.
