Law of Attraction – The ONLY Question You Should Ever Ask

By Sonia Miller | January 27, 2009

Where Does Your Mind Go?

When you’re trying to figure something out, when something goes wrong, when you’re stuck… where does your mind go?  It usually starts searching.  It asks questions.  Questions like:

~ WHY is this happening?

~ HOW do I fix this?

~ WHERE is the money going to come from?

~ WHAT am I doing wrong?

But if you want to be the powerful co-creator that you are, there is only ONE question you should ever ask: “WHAT do I want?”

Be Careful About Questions

You need to be careful about questions.  Although they can be powerful tools for analytical problem solving, they are often limited in their capacity to affect real change in your life.  This is because, from a Law of Attraction perspective, answers do not flow from the questions you ask.  Instead answers flow from the intentions you set.  Why?  Because the energy that gives life to everything in this Universe is summoned when we put our attention on it.

Metaphysically speaking, when you ask questions, two very unproductive things can happen:

1) you default to a very limited intelligence to solve your problems (i.e. your mind), and

2) you put your attention on either the problem, OR the only solutions your mind can conceive of.

Where Answers Come From

Answers come from a place other than your mind.  Answers come when your mind rests for a while.  Certainly you’ve heard and experienced the ‘sleep on it’ phenomenon.  Or you’ve noticed that after long periods of analysis, an insight appears only after you’ve let it all go?  The answer didn’t come from your mind.  Instead, unbeknownst to you, your intention was launched in the midst of your mental gymnastics, and when you finally created the space, the answer came from Source itself.

Since like attracts like, when you put your attention on the problem, it serves only to energize the very problem you seek to resolve.  When, however, you suspend your questioning and instead set forth your intention for a desired solution, the Universe’s creative energy is summoned to take form as the solution you seek.  You don’t have to know how to solve the problem.  You need only identify the solution you want.

Let’s say you lose your job.  The common reaction is to start searching for answers – questioning, strategizing… What am I going to do now?  Where can I find a job in this recession?  How are we going to pay our bills?  All this does is put lots of energy on the very things you don’t want: joblessness, powerlessness, and unpaid bills.  However, a much more effective path to solutions would call for practicing “pause.”  In other words, simply stop spinning the mental gerbil wheel.  Ask yourself, “What do I want here?” And, once you know, declare it to yourself and the Universe… I’m willing to have our financial needs met in the best possible way.  I’m ready to be guided to the perfect job easily.  I choose to stay open to unexpected, prosperous opportunities. This strategy activates the infinite creative power within you, and summons Universal life force energy on behalf of your intentions.

Wield Your Power

Now here’s the thing.  Although this is the way to harness the power of the mind, the mind isn’t enough.  You must summon the power of your emotions as well.  The mind gives form to your intention.  The emotions, however, magnetize your intention and influence the quality of your manifestation.  If you set an intention, but are riddled with fear, you will magnetize your intention with fear.  If you set an intention with anger, your intention will be distorted by the anger.  Your emotions determine how open you will be to solutions.  And so, once you’ve identified what it is that you want, take some time to become receptive to it.

If you’re struggling with fear, insecurity or doubt, understand that you can’t talk yourself out of these feelings or push them away.  What you resist persists.  The only way to shift your emotional energy is to say “yes” to it.  By allowing it to be – to come up and come out – it will release.   You can ask, "What do I want?" in reference to your emotional state, as well.  Declare that to yourself and the Universe.  I’m willing to release all of my fears.  I’m ready to be totally receptive to infinite good.  I choose to suspend judgment and doubt.  Then you’re ready to move on to solutions.

The mind is a powerful thing.  It can be your own worst enemy, or it can be the architect of miracles beyond your imagination.  But like fire, you must decide how you will wield its power – for destruction or for illumination.  Choose YOUR reality!

This is one of the most concise, useful, POWERFUL articles I have ever read. Sonia, you go not just to the heart of the matter, but to the very soul! If given only half the information in this article one could indeed fail to product the desired results no matter how dire the need or how sincere the desire.

I had printed this out and lost it so I am printing it out again. I really do not want to ever be without it, especially if something comes up that temporarily knocks me for a loop!

    Marsha,

I’m so happy this article was helpful to you! I know that remembering this single tool helps me immensely. The trick is always to “catch ourselves” when our mind goes into unproductive questioning mode.

    Blessings,
    Sonia : )
