Law of Attraction – The Transformative Power of Acceptance

By Sonia Miller | April 12, 2009

It’s All About Resistance

Study and practice the Law of Attraction long enough and you’ll soon come to understand that “releasing resistance” is the name of the game. Many Law of Attraction novices get caught up in the first level of the manifestation process: intention. So they put a lot of energy into visualization, affirmations and vision boards. But, if you don’t effectively practice releasing resistance as it comes up for you, your goal will simply remain beyond reach.

One of the most powerful ways to release resistance is to go beyond the resistance you have regarding a particular goal or dream and instead take the opportunity to release any resistance you have around being you. After all, YOU are the filter through which all of your energy flows. Since your relationship to anything in life is merely a reflection of your relationship with yourself, wherever you resist aspects of you (i.e. wherever you cannot “receive” yourself freely) – you’ll limit your capacity to receive other things.

Acceptance of Self is the key here. When you accept something you have been resisting, it loses power over you. If you’ve been trying to prove you are or are not something, it means you have been maintaining a vibration that who you are, exactly as you are, is not enough. In other words, you have been in resistance of yourself. And, as they say, “what you resist persists.”

When You Resist Yourself You Resist Everything

As long as you’re resisting any part of you, imagined or real, you are limiting your connection to Source. And because Source is the source of All That Is, when you limit the flow of Source Energy in your life, you limit the flow of all that you want to receive. This is because Source IS all that is. There is nothing that is not Source. Source is the ONE unifying energy that is the substance of All That Is! That means that you are Source. And if you resist yourself, you are resisting Source. However, as you accept all of you, you accept and allow more Source energy to move in, as, and through you.

Where do you begin on the journey of self acceptance? You begin by understanding that there is more to you, than the you that is reflected in the mirror. In the simplest of terms, there are two dominant expressions of you: your ego self and your soul self. The ego self is that part of you that gets caught up in self-judgment, self-rejection, and resistance in general. The soul self is the bigger part of you that knows its connection to Source and infinite well-being and abundance. When one practices accepting the ego self, resistance begins to fall away, allowing more of the soul self, connected to Source, to shine through.

Shining Light On Your Ego

Once you understand the difference between the ego self and the soul self, you have the necessary perspective to shine the light on your ego to learn what it looks like, what it feels like and how it shows up in your life. An easy place to begin this discovery process is to ask yourself some questions. Allow yourself some time and space to contemplate your responses. Writing down your thoughts and feelings is always a powerful way to explore your truth.

Here are some questions to get your started:

? What am I trying to prove?

? Who am I trying to prove these things to?

? What if I am not the very things I want people to think I am?

? What would that mean?

? What would that say about me?

? What if I am the very things I want people to think I’m not?

? What would that mean?

? What would that say about me?

? Are any of these statements true about me or are they limiting beliefs? Are they judgments? Who is judging me?

The Transformative Power of Acceptance

The above questions will help you to first see the truth. Then second step is to begin accepting the truth. When you can begin accepting the truth of who you are, in all of your glorious, imperfect humanity, then you’ve begun to love yourself. When you love and accept yourself, you are also loving and accepting Source. And remember, Source is All That Is. When you love, accept and receive all that is, there is no longer anything stopping the flow of all that you desire in your life!

Chinese medicine will focus directly on finding ways to alternate the flow of energy from the problems and redirect the energy into better mental health. If you are looking for alternatives, Chinese medicine may be a positive cure.
