Motherland Updates Announcing Grief Support Week 2008 www.motherland-thefilm.com

I’ve had the great honor of supporting film maker, Jen Steinman, in the earliest stages of her realizing her vision to produce, direct and in all ways create the film, "Motherland." (See "Clients" link above.) Over the years I’ve shared small updates as news came my way of the film’s developments. Today I was thrilled to receive Jen’s latest update: The film is available for purchase and is partnering grief support organizations all over the U.S. to dedicate December 15-21 as National Grief Support Week.
In honor of seekers all over the world who courageously dare to follow their life’s purpose, and in support of those who are grieving during the holiday season and beyond, please read on and share this freely. Thank you and congratulations, Jen!

Dear friends and colleagues,
What a long and amazing journey it’s been since I first conceived of the idea for Motherland… It’s hard to believe it was actually two years ago today that I was in Africa with six amazing, brave women and a film crew… and that was just the beginning!
I am thrilled and proud to announce that the film is finally finished and the DVD is now available! I’d like to invite you all, my dearest friends, family and supporters who have been with me on this journey since the beginning, to be the first to see it.

Also, I am very excited to announce that Motherland is partnering with grief support organizations all over the country to dedicate December 15-21 as National Grief Support Week, 2008. During this very special week, we come together to recognize and comfort our friends, relatives and neighbors who are grieving, and to surround them with compassionate, loving support during the holiday season – one of the most challenging times of the year for those who have lost a loved one.
We are humbled and honored by the support we’re receiving from organizations all over the country whose missions are to help and support those who have lost loved ones– including CorStone, Mothers in Sympathy and Support (MISS), The Wendt Center for Loss and Healing, Violent Crime Victim Services, Children’s Hospice International… and those are just a few names of the 18+ national organizations that have come on board as our partners for this special week of events.

If you’d like to get involved in Grief Support Week, please consider taking part in one of the following ways:
- Host a screening of the film
- Write an article about the importance of Grief Support Week for your local newspaper or your favorite magazine or blog.
- Refer us to a personal connection at a relevant organization, a Media outlet, or to a friend who’d be interested
- Buy three DVDs (one for someone who could use the support, one for your local library and one for you).
Also, for those of you who don’t already know, the original concept of Motherland will now be living on into the future thanks to the vision of two amazing women, Catherine Stern and Carole Mahoney, who have started a program called "Project Grace." Project Grace will continue to bring together parents, siblings and other family members grieving the death of a child for unique service trips. In April 2008 they took their first group trip for mothers who had lost a child to work in an orphanage in Bucerias, Mexico, and there are more trips being planned for the Spring to Nicaragua and El Salvador. In other distribution news… the film is now being represented in the worldwide broadcast market by MERCURY MEDIA, and we are still waiting to hear back from several film festivals on the possibility of a Springtime premiere. I promise to keep you all posted as to when and where we will be showing as soon as I know the details. And I promise, wherever the premiere might be… we will throw a really big party!
Again, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your generous, loving support throughout these past two and a half years. We are already starting to see the film make a huge impact on people’s lives in communities all over the country and all over the world. Without you, none of this would have been possible.
