TIP #3 – How to Improve Your Relationships by Flipping Your Focus

By Sonia Miller | January 5, 2008

Our relationships are simply mirror reflections of our inner world. This means that when we perceive that something is missing or wrong in a relationship, it is because the issue is expressing within us. So, next time you feel that something is missing in a relationship, rather than trying to get it from the other person, turn within, find it in yourself and bring it to the relationship.

For example, if your relationship lacks intimacy, rather than seek it from your partner, bring intimacy. If trust feels shaky, look to see where you are not trusting yourself and bring it. If you feel abandoned in your relationship, explore where you might be abandoning yourself. As you flip your focus from your partner to yourself, taking responsibility for how you are being, your relationships will change as your consciousness evolves.
