Weightloss – Change Your Mind, Change Your Body
By Sonia Miller | February 19, 2008
Q: I’ve struggled with my weight and body image for years. I am 43 years old, I’ve had all my children and I’ve weighed about the same for the past 7 years. I’ve tried diets and exercising, just to return to the same old habits. How can I accept my body and stop demanding of myself that I look like some model on a magazine cover?
A: Food and body issues are a perfect example of the metaphysical law – what you think about comes about. In a society as obsessed with appearance as ours, where non-average standards of beauty are shoved down our throats, we’re brainwashed to think that our bodies are ugly – in all their natural glory. Add to it the common struggle of low self-esteem among women in our culture and you have a perfect recipe for women manifesting all the negative thoughts and emotions they direct towards their bodies. You must understand that NOTHING will change unless you change your thinking. You must absolutely COMMIT to finding ways to think thoughts about your body that feel good, and stop doing the things that make you think and feel badly. If you can’t love your body then practice sending kind thoughts to your body – especially the parts you dislike the most. Stop buying magazines that make you feel bad about yourself. Look for role models of average women that you find beautiful and adopt the mantra, “If I find her beautiful, then I can find myself beautiful.”Throw out the scale and let how you feel guide you, rather than an arbitrary number. And learn how to shop for clothes and dress in ways that make you feel good in your body (there are some great books and television shows on the topic now-a-days). As you “raise your vibration” through more positive thoughts and emotions, you’ll begin attracting everything you need to have the body you love and love the body you have.Choose Your Reality! tm
